Speakers

Nicholas McGowan
Nicholas McGowan MSN, RN, CCRN

Nicholas is a critical care nurse with 15 years of experience in cardiovascular, surgical intensive care, and neurological trauma nursing. But Nicholas doesn’t just want to work with patients: he puts his background in education, leadership, and public speaking to work so he can help other nurses. Nicholas holds a Master’s Degree in Nursing Education, and believes that nurses need modern, engaging, mobile-friendly CCRN review courses. That’s why he created the most effective online CCRN review course in existence. He is fueled by his passion for innovative approaches, adult learning theories, and evidence-based practices based on technology. Nicholas is a lifelong learner who builds on his foundation of critical care nursing, which he uses directly at the bedside, where he still practices. Nicholas is a leader in his field, where he has served as President of the AACN Inland Empire Chapter and led over 500 members in the Southern California region. Nicholas also piloted the Rapid Response program for one of the largest healthcare organizations in the nation. He consults with regional healthcare organizations on critical care education, CCRN review, and Rapid Response programs. Nicholas enjoys training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as well as Ironman Triathlons. He is a devoted father of two young boys. When he’s not teaching nursing courses or caring for critically-ill patients, you can find him coaching Little League and fighting off “pirate-ninjas” lurking under the bed.
